Smooth surface reconstruction from image sequences

چکیده
This paper addresses the problem of 3D surface reconstruction using image sequences. It has been shown that shape recovery from three or more occluding contours of the surface is possible given a known camera motion. Recent algorithms allow the estimation of a 3D depth map of points on extremal contours. We present our approach which is based on local approximations up to order two of the surface. Such reconstruction must then be followed by a global surface description stage. This is done by constructing a trian-gulation of the reconstructed points and by performing a regularisation step in order to correct perturbations which aaect the reconstruction. Experiments on real data were conducted which have proved the reliability of the method.

With the advent of cheap indoor RGB-D sensors, proper representation of piecewise planar depth images is crucial toward an effective compression method. Although there exist geometrical wavelets for optimal representation of piecewise constant and piecewise linear images (i.e. wedgelets and platelets), an adaptation to piecewise linear fractional functions which correspond to depth variation ov...
متن کاملSurface reconstruction of detect contours for medical image registration purpose
Although, most of the abnormal structures of human brain do not alter the shape of outer envelope of brain (surface), some abnormalities can deform the surface extensively. However, this may be a major problem in a surface-based registration technique, since two nearly identical surfaces are required for surface fitting process. A type of verification known as the circularity check for th...

ABTRACT Background: In nuclear medicine, phantoms are mainly used to evaluate the overall performance of the imaging systems and practically there is no phantom exclusively designed for the evaluation of the software performance. In this study the Hoffman brain phantom was used for quantitative evaluation of reconstruction techniques. The phantom is modified to acquire t...
متن کاملStereoscopic Surface Reconstruction in Minimally Invasive Surgery using Efficient Non-Parametric Image Transforms
Intra-operative instrumentation and navigation in minimally invasive surgery is challenging due to soft tissue deformations. Therefore, surgeons make use of stereo endoscopy and adjunct depth perception in order to handle tissue more safely. Moreover, the surgeon can be assisted with visualized information computed from three-dimensionally estimated surgical site. In this study, a review of sta...
متن کامل3D Reconstruction and Rendering from Image Sequences
This contribution describes a system for 3D surface reconstruction and novel view synthesis from image streams of an unknown but static scene. The system operates fully automatic and estimates camera pose and 3D scene geometry using Structure-from-Motion and dense multi-camera stereo reconstruction. From these estimates, novel views of the scene can be rendered at interactive rates.
